  • City "Pace Car" Program

The City has implemented a "Pace Car Program" as part of the Traffic Calming program per recommendations made by the Traffic Calming Advisory Committee. This is a GREAT way for individuals to take an active part in addressing the actual problem...

The basic idea is for individuals to promise to drive at or below the posted speed limits in residential areas throughout the City. You send in your "contract" to the City, and get free stickers (bumper or window) to indicate to people that may be tailgating you WHY you are going the speed limit.

This type of program is really great, and cheap, and shows neighborhood solidarity. PLEASE consider signing up, and lets see if we can calm things down in our neighborhood WITHOUT getting "Humped".

If you want to read more about how these programs work in other cities, or in general, check out the info we have gathered on our FAQs page.

I scanned the form from the newspaper... so the quality is less than perfect, sorry! Click on the image, and print and mail to PO Box 909, Santa Fe NM 87504-0909,
or fax it in to Sarah Fresquez, Traffic Engineering at 955-6439.
